Charting The Course
The ACB of Oregon Southwestern Chapter would like to invite you to the 69th annual ACB of Oregon convention. Once again, this convention will be a hybrid event. We encourage you to attend in person, but you have the option to attend virtually using Zoom. Our ACB of Oregon members will also have an option to request on the registration below convention assistance with transportation and lodging. Please review the qualifying criteria information included with this registration. An addition this year is a comfortable Chartered Tour Bus will be provided for transportation to the convention. We expect pickup sites to be in Portland, Salem and Eugene. Be sure to indicate in the registration for below that you are what to be on the bus.
We have a great convention planned this year. We begin our event on Friday at 3:30pm with our 3rd quarter board meeting. This will be offered as a hybrid activity. For our in-person members, join us after dinner for social time and a music jam session! Please bring your musical instruments and/or singing voices for some fun music to play and sing. All are welcome to play, sing, dance, listen, however you feel like participating. A no-host bar will be available.
Saturday afternoon after our traditional morning schedule we are planning some great activities including a trip to the beach. For those staying in the hotel, you can participate in the Couch to Active session with Lyn Lindberg followed by a program called Finding Music in the Starlight. This interesting discussion is presented by Dr. Aaron Coyner and Krystal Hopper of Southwestern Oregon Community College, NASA/JPL Solar System Ambassadors. Saturday Night is our Saturday night banquet with our keynote speaker, Janet Dickelman, the chair of the ACB national convention.
Our committee has been working hard to acquire some great door prizes, a 50/50 Raffle and Raffle Basket. So, you will want to come prepared to buy those raffle tickets!
Be sure to complete the following registration form and return all pages before September 20th to avoid the late fee. Then, make your hotel reservations early to take advantage of the low room rate. The hotel will honor our special rate until October 2nd. After that date the block of rooms will be released, and the rates will return to full cost.
We will broadcast as much of our convention as possible through ACB Media using the Zoom platform, which is accessible through computer, smart phone, and landline phone. The Saturday night banquet will also be carried by ACB Media. More information will be provided regarding how to virtually access the convention.
