The ACB of Oregon board would like to invite you to join us virtually for our 67th annual ACB of Oregon convention. We have a great convention planned this year including Friday night social activities, exciting Saturday afternoon sessions, and our 1st ever virtual auction Sunday afternoon.
We are pleased to announce our keynote speaker will be Dr. Hoby Wedler, American chemist and entrepreneur. Dr. Wedler founded and remains CEO of the not-for-profit Accessible Science. For his role in promoting chemistry and science to blind people Dr. Wedler became a Champion of Change as part of an initiative run by the White House under Barrack Obama and was recognized for his contributions to the category of ‘Stem Equality For Americans With Disabilities’. Also, Forbes recognized Dr. Wedler as one of their 30 Under 30 in the Food and Drink category, emphasizing his role in leading blind wine tastings in California. Dr. Wedler regularly runs blind wine tasting at Francis Ford Coppola Winery, blindfolding the participants so that they can embrace the aroma and flavors of wine without the ‘distraction of sight’.
The convention opens Friday afternoon at 3:30pm with “Unpack That Goody Box with Cassie Trosper” followed by “ACB of Oregon History with Pat Schwab”. At 4pm, we will hold our quarterly board meeting. you will not want to miss our Friday evening “Wine Tasting with Dr. Hoby Wedler” or our Game Night & Social Time. Come join the fun starting at 7pm.
On Saturday, after a full day of amazing speakers, Dr. Hoby Wedler will be our Banquet speaker followed by “ACB of O History Tidbit Trivia” with Pat Schwab (who will win the $200 prize?). On Sunday, after our Membership Meeting, we will hold our 1st ever virtual Auction; come prepared to enjoy a wonderful 2021 convention & support ACBO in our auction.
Be sure to complete the following registration form before October 5th to avoid the late fee. You will receive the Zoom log-on information with various ways to access it shortly after we receive your registration. The Goody bags will be mailed by October 8th so you will have it in time to “Unpack that Goody Bag with Cassie Trosper” at 3:30pm on October 22nd. So don’t be left out, only the first 100 registrants will receive a goody bag.

No refunds will be granted for this virtual format, the total price is $20 payable with a card online, a mailed check, or over the phone

- Registration allows all members paid and certified on the ACB membership list to attend the convention Friday, Saturday, and/or Sunday morning to vote.
Those who register will also:
- Be able to participate in all discussion and interactive activities of the convention
- Receive the important Zoom information to connect to all sessions Friday, Oct 22 through Sunday, Oct 24.
- Receive a convention program in the format of your choice
- Receive one of our exceptional Goodie Bags (if you register by October 5th)
- Be able to bid in our Sunday afternoon Auction
All sessions will take place using the Zoom platform, which is accessible through computer, smart phone, and landline phone. Saturday activities will also be carried by ACB Media including the Saturday night banquet.
