Facebook Birthday Fundraiser – for ACB of Oregon
(American Council of the Blind of Oregon)
On your computer, login to Facebook
Click on your News Feed – the panel on the left side of your screen
Scroll down the list of groups and activities to Fundraisers – click on the name
A window opens saying “______, it’s almost your birthday – create a fundraiser to support a cause you care about, and we’ll take care of the donation processing with no fees.”
Type in the search bar – ACB of Oregon
Next a statement opens says “Let’s start with the basics” – enter:
- The name of the nonprofit (ACB of Oregon)How much you want to raiseThe currency you want the donors to useThe date you want the fundraiser to end
Click Next
A title now appears saying “Tell your story” – enter:
- A title for your fundraiserA brief explanation for why you wanted to create this fundraiser (example: I’ve chosen this nonprofit because the mission of ACB of Oregon means a lot to me)
Click Next
You now have an opportunity to pick a cover photo. Choose one of the suggested photos
Click Create – lower left corner of the screen
A message will pop up that congratulates you on creating your fundraiser. From there, you can invite your friends to donate, share your fundraiser in your News Feed, or donate to the fundraiser yourself.
